On Memorial Day we went to Uncle Vincent and Aunt Lauren's house and Jake went swimming for the very first time. He wasn't sure what to think at first and the water was a little cold, but after a few minutes he started smiling and laughing.
Shannon, Roy, Lee and Savannah came to visit in April. We went to Aunt Karen's house for dinner and Jake was in awe of the big boys, Roy and Lee. He had a great time watching them play with their toys.
For Easter, Jake got a toy duck that when you touched would dance and sing "You are my Sunshine". He loves it! He will just stare at while it plays, but once the song is over he looks at you and starts laughing.
He also got the cutest Nemo fish toy for the
bathtub. Here is showing Great-Grandma Shirley his new toy.
This was Jake's second time ever eating rice cereal. Steve was feeding him and he was so excited. I love this picture because he looks like he's praying. So sweet and innocent.
He is so much fun! 6 months is my favorite age so far. He's smiling, laughing, talking (he said mama first :), squealing, rolling over, sitting up, grabbing everthing within reach (then sticking it in his mouth, of course), and exploring the house in his walker. I think he will run before he walks. We can't get enough of his amazing personality. What a joy!
We are doing well. Still trying to find that perfect balance : ) Steve still loves working as a firefigher paramedic and has been learning all he can about custom home building. In his "free time" he has picked up the guitar and has become quite good in just 8 months. I've been busy taking pictures, running a portrait studio out of the house and finishing up my 5th year of teaching.
